Presentation boxes and corporate gifts in hand-made marquetry — kept long after whatever was inside them is gone.
Most gift packaging is thrown away within a day. A khatam box is not: it stays on a desk or a shelf and carries the occasion with it. That makes it an unusually efficient corporate gift, and an unusually personal wedding or anniversary present. We make them plain, inlaid or painted, in editions of one or of several hundred.
For companies giving to clients or staff, a marquetry box solves the problem of a gift that is memorable without being extravagant. We produce consistent batches, so the hundredth box matches the first closely enough that no recipient feels short-changed.
A logo can be laid into the inlay, engraved into a brass plate set into the lid, or painted by hand. Each route has different minimums and lead times, and we will tell you which one actually suits your artwork — some logos simply do not survive translation into marquetry.
Boxes for rings, for invitations, for the Persian sofreh, or as guest gifts. Dedications, names and dates can be added by hand. For guest gifts we work in small repeatable formats that keep the unit cost sensible.
Interiors can be cut to hold a specific object: a bottle, a watch, a pen, a set of documents. Send us the dimensions or the object itself and the insert is made around it rather than the object being made to fit a stock box.
From a box that fits in a palm to a case large enough for a folio. Small runs are entirely normal here — there is no minimum of a thousand units, because nothing is tooled and nothing is moulded.
A plain inlaid box in a small quantity is a matter of weeks. A painted edition of two hundred is a matter of months, because a limited number of artists can paint to the standard we will put our name to. We would rather quote a real date than a comfortable one.
Boxes can be supplied with an outer sleeve, a cloth bag or a fitted carton ready for direct dispatch. For corporate orders we can ship to a single address or split the consignment across several.
